The Story Begins

First Chapter:
Zona Yunque

The Tainos discovered,
these small creatures that
lived near the red trees
(flamboyanes) in El Yunque.
While migrating to a new
area, they immediately realized
that these creatures had
incredible powers
Some of them threw fire,
or a bolt of energy. Others
created a whirlwind of water,
while some flew and did all
those things at the same time.
Not just that. They are wild
and very difficult to control.

Although the Vejigantes
were uncontrollable,
they were also harmless
and very curious. They loved to
eat casabe and coconuts.

Sometimes the Taínos,
had fun by making them fight
against each other.

One day Caona,
daughter of Chief Aracoel,
noticed that these creatures
stayed close to her while
she held a Guanin and a
stone that had an element
carved on them.

When she did this,
the Vejigantes understood her
language and followed her
instructions. Caona immediately
built some things with wood
and clay to hold the Guanín
and an element symbol
and put them over her head.
She called those "Ocamas".

Aracoel
thought that Yuquiyú,
would not have sent those
creatures to them if they did
not have a purpose. So
he ordered Caona to train
them and to teach the other
Tainos how to control them.

Soon Vejigantes and Tainos,
were living in harmony while preparing for
some adverse event that might occur.
And for that, you have to train hard.

elemental Stones

Wind
Fire
Earth
Spirit
Energy
Flora
The Elemental Stones were carved
by ancient Tainos. They represent the power
that each Vejigante has.

The Vejigante knows that you are trying to
communicate with it when you hold
one of these stones.

Rarely a Vejigante reacts to all the
stones, but if it does, its power
becomes stronger.
